The Safe Zone Resource Center’s Ally Training Ambassadors are a small group of elite professionals who provide professional development and educational outreach training on LGBTQIA+ related topics. Along with the SZRC staff, they help facilitate, assess, and coordinate the Ally Training Program at UA.

For those interested in becoming an Ally Training Ambassador, each year, the SZRC collects applications from Faculty, Staff, and Graduate Assistants at UA. Applicants who are chosen participate in an asynchronous online course between the months of May and August, and commit to attending and/or facilitating at least two full length training sessions each semester. In order to be selected as an Ally Training Ambassador, applicants must:

1) Complete the ambassador application before Monday, April 30, 2018

2) Be prepared to make a significant time commitment to both their own professional development as Training Ambassadors, regular meetings with Safe Zone staff and training ambassadors to coordinate, assess, and review the Ally Training Program; and to facilitate at least two full-length sessions.

*While it is not required, the SZRC recommends that interested applicants check with their supervisor to ensure that they will be able to keep their promised time commitment.

3) Complete the Ally Training Ambassador online course during the summer months.

*The online course is a cohort based, asynchronous class designed to prepare new trainers to effectively facilitate, assess, and revise the Ally Training Program, as well as, develop a supportive culture of growth and excellence among one another.

If you’d like to apply to the program, begin by filling out the application below. Those selected will be informed by Friday, May 4th 2018.
